You Are Not Alone
You Are Not Alone

2017 Annual Appeal

Dear Friend,

Just imagine if one day your phone rang and you were told that someone you love has been murdered? It is a call that no one ever wants to receive, but unfortunately since 1990, over 3,541 people in the state of Connecticut have received that phone call.

Survivors of Homicide, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing counseling, advocacy, and support groups to friends and family of homicide victims. We are the only organization in the state that provides these services and one of a few in the entire country.

In 2017, we are honored to be celebrating our 30-year anniversary through many times of reduced funding and loss of other supportive agencies. However, we could not have achieved this without the help of others in our community and to continue to do the work that we do we need your help more than ever.

While our grant pays for many of our day to day expenses and administrative costs, there are many things that that our grant does not cover that are crucial to our day to day operations. We serve approximately 300 survivors of homicide a year across the state of Connecticut with an operating budget of $82,000 a year. In July 2016, we were very lucky to be able to hire a part time Victim Advocate to help serve the Southern part of the state. However, you can still imagine the hurdles that we face, especially during these tough economic times.

Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to our organization. There are two convenient ways to donate.

  • Fill out our Donation Form and return it to our office. The form can be found here.
  • You can make a secure donation by credit card through Pay Pal by clicking the button below.

We greatly appreciate whatever support that you can provide and every donation will change the life of person who has lost so much.

Sincerely,

Art Jensen
